Finished Socks!!!

Well... Hurray Hurray, I finished the 'not for me' socks today... and was paid for them... semi-grudgingly... 'I thought you said $35'... to which I said that I wanted a minimum of $35, as that would just cover the cost of the yarn! (I got $50...) Plus the guy had said, after I had started the toes... that they were really for his wife... who wears a womens size 10... opposed to his size 10's... sigh... ah well, they are done, delivered, with washing instructions...

So... what can I get my fingers into next?!

almost done!!!

First of all... whine... I have a cold.... it snuck up on me, when I wasn't looking, and I am most unhappy with it!

Secondly... I am almost done with the socks!!! Good news/bad news... the person who wanted them, really really wants them... and they fit him... :-( and he has given me a down payment on them... ah well

I am at the point of doing the toes... should be done tomorrow, or Saturday at the latest.

In doing these socks I have learned alot!!! I knit 'continental style', and realized that I was purling 'wrong' ... it did the trick, but it wasn't quite right... and that when I did the ssk (slip-slip-knit) that I was doing that wrong too... I have fixed those problems, and this sock project is the best that I have done ever! I am now looking at other patterns with the famous hmmmm that people get when the light goes on...

But for now... its a thing of finishing these socks.

Continuation of socks...

This is one of the socks that I have started, using the 'safari' wool, it is working up very very nicely... so far in the short sock knitting career that I have... it is the best sock that I have made!

more of the same

So... knitting... knitting... knitting... I finally got the Lorna's Laces Safari yarn to talk to me, and tell me what type of pattern... I cast on 68 stitches, and did a 1x1 ribbing for 1 1/2 inches, and now comes the boring part (so to speak) of doing the leg... Fortunately the yarn is a 'patterning' type of yarn and I can watch the pattern grow!

In addition I have been making 'medicine' bags and found some scarlet and bridal white crochet thread to knit with, I am still needing a sunny yellow, a grass green, and a bright blue, along with black... another day I will post pix of the stuff!
